  As students make the tranistion from elementary school to secondary education, they face many challenges and changes. This is true for mathematics as well. They must take a concrete understanding of numbers and apply it!
The mathematics department offers six courses: Math Clinic 7, Pre-Algebra, Math Clinic 8, Algebra Readiness, Algebra and Geometry. Starting this year, all students will have four terms of mathematics.
Most students in seventh grade will be enrolled in Pre-Algebra. Students who make appropriate progress in Pre-Algebra can move into Algebra in eighth grade, otherwise they will continue their preparation with Algebra Readiness. Students enrolled in Math Clinic 7 can progress into Pre-Algebra during seventh grade or into Algebra Readiness the following year. Seventh graders who make appropriate progress in Algebra will move into Geometry in eighth grade.
